GambleAware, the independent British problem gambling organisation, announced today it has sealed two new partnerships in preparation for its next Bet Regret initiative. The problem gambling organisation has recruited MAN v FAT, a weight loss portal, exclusively dedicated to helping overweight males to shed the extra pounds and return to a healthy weight.
The portal was launched in 2014 by publisher and author Andrew Shanahan. It has received massive waves of support from various public figures and associations, including the British Dietetic Association and the world-renowned chef and restaurateur Jamie Oliver.
GambleAware found another new partner in the face of Supporters Direct Scotland. The latter was established in the year 2000 and ever since, has been helping sports fans to purchase, run, and grow their local football clubs. Over the course of the last twenty or so years, Supporters Direct Scotland has assisted Scottish football enthusiasts to buy and develop over forty community-owned football clubs.
In addition to the two new recruitments, the GambleAware association has also renewed the deals with its existing partners, the Scottish Football Supporters Association and the Football Supporters Association, abbreviated as FSA. The partnerships’ renewal comes ahead of the football season’s start.
According to GambleAware, the two new partnerships will enable the organisation to further promote responsible betting within the football community. At the same time, they will help educate football fans about the dangers associated with gambling. The joint venture will also encourage people who like to wager on sports regularly to do so more responsibly.
GambleAware Partners to Display Campaign Messages on Their Websites
Under the deal, the partners of GambleAware will also be required to display messages about the Bet Regret campaign on their official websites. To boot, GambleAware and MAN v FAT, which organises weekly football games with qualified referees, will teach coaches how to educate weight-loss programme members about avoiding risky and impulsive wagers. In addition, the campaign will feature exclusive video content and social media discussions about how to gamble more responsibly.
The independent charity’s Communications Director, Zoe Osmond, commented on the news, stressing the importance of such partnerships for the success of the Bet Regret Safer Gambling Campaign. Working with such accredited partners helps GambleAware extend its reach and introduce its audience to the campaign’s essential messages, the Communications Director said.
Osmond explained GambleAware has picked these partners because it feels confident about their assisting in the promotion of its core message, namely encouraging punters to refrain from impulsive wagering and avoiding the regrets associated with reckless gambling.
GambleAware’s campaign for safer gambling started in early 2019. The initiative has earned the approval of many public figures and politicians, including the Conservative Party politician Miriam Davies, who headed the Ministry of Sport at the time. Bet Regret has also received praise and support from GVC Holdings, one of the biggest gambling groups in the world.
